XBOX LIVE HELP! PLZ HELP!?

I bought the xbox 360 slim model, this is my 4th xbox. Ever since I bought my 3rd xbox, everytime I put a game in like rock band or something that requires xbox live play, It receives and update, even though I KNOW no update has been released. Its like if every time I turn my xbox off, my cache gets deleted and I have to update my games every time I want to play them. I transferred my licenses, I even called Microsoft and got a manual license transfer, but I still get these “non-existent” updates as I call them. Any way to make them stop (because when I play rock band offline, due to this, I can’t play my dlc songs because it always says my save is a more updated version or whatever)
Please help.
*I know these updates are not real because me and my friend play the exact same game at the exact same time, and I get the updates and he doesn’T*
