Xbox 360 replacement drive not opening?

Hello i got a free xbox 360 from my friend. the xbox had one thing wrong with it the xbox 360 disk tray wouldn’t open or close so i went a purchased a new replacement drive myself and replaced it and i put it back together and pushed the eject button and it wouldn’t eject. Don’t have a clue what to do help me please
